Journeying through languages, word by word

My journey into language study was unexpected. At school in the Czech Republic, I stumbled into English and German classes as any other kid. At 13, captivated by anime, I dived into Japanese. It wasn't until college, majoring in Japanese Studies, that I discovered my love for languages.

University studies led me to Tokyo, polishing Japanese skills, but also sparking global connections and a new goal: mastering Spanish. I began to explore how Spanish works and unraveled its connections with languages I knew. Understanding the language systems, I then swiftly achieved B2 level (“upper intermediate”) in Spanish within six months and pursue further studies in Mexico.

In 2022, I met my German partner and relocated to Germany. After a 10-year hiatus, I’m revisiting German, bringing it back from the depths of my memory and considering it a new language challenge.
